My Super Power

Photobucket

A random question popped into my head this morning as I was showering and getting ready for work: "If I had a super power, what would it be?"

I thought about this a bit and came to the conclusion that I would probably be stuck with a power that was embarrassingly lame but practical. I would have the power to tell time (without a watch or a clock!). I would have an innate sense of time... in any timezone. I would be the lamest mutant ever.

The government might hire me for some reason or another. Probably not. Chances are good Professor X would let me join the X-Men out of pity. I probably wouldn't even get a special spandex suit. I would just wear my everyday street clothes. I would wear my hair big though. Very, very big hair.

My greatest contribution to the team would probably involve keeping the X-Men on schedule. As the X-Men fought Magneto and his team of super villains, I would kindly remind Storm, "Girl, it's 8:47! So You Think You Can Dance is on in 13 minutes. Lets wrap this up!" It would be a sad existence and I would eventually be banished to live underground with the Morlocks.

Ok, I change my mind. I'll fly.

New York, New York Pt. 2

After surviving the 5 hour delay at the airport, experiencing a little jetlag, and having a very restful memorial day weekend, I'm back at work! I've actually been very productive up to this point. Whatever, it's my break. I do what I want. Shit.

The rest of my trip in New York was fun and full of mischief. Here are some more pictures!

The Girl Who Cries When She Looks in the Mirror

Photobucket

I was really hoping to see a celebrity or reality tv star during my stay in New York and I spotted one just in time! I'm sitting at the JFK airport for my flight home (which is delayed, damn!) and I just saw Kelle from cycle 3 of America's Next Top Model eating a sandwich. The sandwich looked really good. I wasn't sure if it was her at first, so I sat closer and she started talking to her friend and it was definitely Kelle. That, and I remember that Kelle lives in New York. Her flight is for Paris so that makes sense too, since she is a top model afterall.

I really wanted to get a picture with her but I didn't want to be obnoxious. I love Kelle from cycle 3! She's the girl who kept taking the bad pictures and getting criticized by Janice Dickinson. Janice told Kelle it looked like she had a penis in one picture! She's also the girl that kept crying everytime she looked at herself in the mirror when she was practicing her facial expressions.

Cough Cough Snort

I'm sick of being sick! I've been sick since last week and this is my fourth time being sick this year. I don't get why I'm so unhealthy. I'm careful about what I eat - plenty of red meat and butter. I exercise - jump n jacks and naked lunges all over the house. And, I'm such a good person. How could these germs attack a genuinely altruistic and kind-hearted person?

Anyways, my manager Gwen has a pet peeve where she can't stand when people make sniffling or snorting noises. Since I'm so diseasely my nose has been runny a lot and my first reaction is always to sniffle or snort. Gwen has magic ears and always glares at me when I sniffle so I have to be super careful in the office.

There was a company meeting at the sister office in Hoboken today and I was sniffling and snorting away to make sure that snot didn't run down my face. Little did I know, Gwen was actually attending the meeting via webex. Crap!

After the meeting I sent her an IM to make sure she didn't hear any of the sniffling. Luckily, she didn't! Phew.. I was sitting in the front of the room by the microphone too so I lucked out. She asked me why I was sick so much and if I had seen a doctor yet. I hadn't. I don't even have a doctor! I was dropped from my parents insurance plan last year after turning 22 and my primary care physician isn't covered by my current plan! So annoying.

I know I have my own insurance from work but I'm too lazy to find my own doctor. I haven't even found a dentist yet even though I have dental insurance. I haven't seen a dentist in 2 years! I hate the idea of having to find a doctor or a dentist. I don't like doing all this adult stuff.

I explained this to Gwen over AIM. She says she'll ask around for me though to see if anyone knows a good doctor and dentist downtown. I hope she does too, because lord knows I'll never find one on my own.

how shameful for me!

I'm a career girl!

I've been in New York since the beginning of the week and I'm loving it! My coworker Karl and I flew in on Sunday and have been working at our company's sister office in Hoboken since Monday. We've been exploring Manhattan after work and going out to wonderful restaurants at night. Yesterday, we explored the village and Soho. Here are some pictures of our trip so far:

Man Cleavage

Photobucket

Summer is near! I've been stocking up on skanky v-necks in anticipation of the glorious 80 degree weather. I went to American Apparel today and bought two shirts that provide ultimate exposure for my man-cleavage, or lack therof. I expect to buy more while I'm in New York next week. My sister hates the ideas of the v-necks but I think she's secretly jealous that I have the body of a high fashion female model....or an emaciated child suffering from malaria. Either way, imma work it out.

My farmer's tan will take on a different shape this summer!

Crazy for Top Model!

Seattle has some serious issues with Top Model...

Siblings squabble over 'America's Next Top Model'

A Columbia City woman was stabbed and nearly killed last month allegedly because she and her friends were being too loud watching "America's Top Model."

On Friday, the reality show struck again. This time, Tyra Banks and her gaggle of wiry model wanna-be's were at the heart of a sibling squabble in Northgate fit for a taping of Jerry Springer.

It started when a teacher in her twenties told her younger brother he'd been playing video games "for hours" and said she wanted to watch a recorded episode of "America's Next Top Model," according to a police report.

Her brother, also in his twenties, became "irate." He threw a remote control at his sister. It hit her hand and nicked the TV. Apparently undaunted, she went for the wall socket and started to unplug his video game. Pretty soon both were wrestling with the wires and each other until the sister called 911 and the brother ran from the house on the 1200 block of Northeast 102nd Street "in an unknown direction."

Once again, these two are in their twenties.

The woman had "red marks and a small bruise" on her hand, according to the report. The struggle also left her with a small scratch on her knee. No charges were filed.

The woman declined medical attention. But maybe she got to watch the show.

I want the whole world

I'm leaving work a little early today to fly down to California. I get to visit Googleplex for a meeting tomorrow! From what I've heard, Googleplex is like a glorious theme park. I'm so excited! I feel like I have a golden ticket to the chocolate factory!

these shoes rock

Karen, Lookrichbitch, and I are going to see Colin Meloy (from the Decemberists) at the Showbox tonight. I've been preparing myself by watching his videos on youtube. It's weird watching him sing though because everytime I look at him I'm reminded of Kelly (shoes).

You be the judge:

I have an idea. Colin Meloy should dress in drag and be Kelly for Halloween '08. Genius.

Where are you?
